NCAA Basketball: Hunter Dickinson, Marcus Foster are Players of the Week
By Bryan Mauro
The second week of the NCAA Basketball season has come to end and we are all collectively starting to learn which teams are good and which teams are bad. All of us are also learning which players have turned into stars and which players have turned into role players. The end of week two of the season also means that there is another Busting Brackets Player of the Week award to hand out. As always the winners of the award get the recognition from the site but it is not a formal award by any means.
There was a player selected from both the power 5 and the mid major ranks. There were not as many players in the Power 5 pool to choose from this week as the majority of the Multi Team events featuring Power schools are going to happen the week of Thanksgiving. Even with the shortened pool there were still some huge performances on the power five side. However, the winner of the award is a player that had a huge week and is going to show up as a winner of this award multiple times.
The mid major award winner had one of the best weeks of the season, and when the season ends in March there likely will not be another player who has a week quite like this one. The pool from which to pick from was much larger and this one took a lot more research and was a much harder decision. I do think that after reading why the player was the winner it will all make sense as to why that player was the winner. The winners for the Busting Brackets player of the week for week 2 starts with the mid majors.
