Bracketology 2024: Purdue, Villanova, and BYU among Feast Week winners
7. Wisconsin Badgers
The Badgers were in the same situation as Florida State, coming off a bad past week. They lost to Tennessee at home and got blown out on the road at Providence. Neither were actual bad losses but when you add them needing all 40 minutes to get passed a bad Robert Morris squad, there were plenty of concerns about them heading into the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
The game against Virginia ended up being arguably the most shocking result from the entire week. It was a low-scoring game as expected but it was a complete blowout in Wisconsin’s favor, 65-41. Steven Crowl led the way offensively with 15 pts and 10 rebs.
The finals against SMU ended up being closer than expected but the Big Ten team was able to sneak out with a 69-61 win, led by 14 pts from Tyler Wahl in a balanced effort. The Mustangs have been solid so far so they might not have been a bad loss anyway but avoiding another loss in the first month of the season is ideal.
Wisconsin takes on Western Illinois next but assume they get by them without issue, the next key opponent is Marquette at home. After what the Golden Eagles did in the past week, it’s a major opportunity for a true signature win for the program.
