Arizona Wildcats college basketball defeated the Michigan State Spartans Bracketology /

4. Arizona Wildcats

The Wildcats started out with a 101-56 win over UT-Arlington, the second straight game where the team dropped 100+ points. Seven players, including all five starters, were in double figures, led by 15 points each from Oumar Ballo and Kylan Boswell.

But the next big test for Arizona came on Thanksgiving, taking on Michigan State in a neutral site battle. Although they’ve had some early stumbles, Coach Tom Izzo and the veteran-laden roster are capable of beating anyone. The Wildcats didn’t leave anything to doubt, taking an early double-digit lead and holding on for a 74-68 win after the game got close.

All five starters were once again in double figures, led by 17 points from Caleb Love. It’s a guaranteed Quad 1 victory and adding it already with the road victory over Duke and this team has the second-best resume when it comes to the No. 1 overall seed in Bracketology.

Arizona has just Colgate at home in the next week but the schedule takes a big jump afterward, with Wisconsin, Purdue, Alabama, and Florida Atlantic following them. They’ve looked like the best team in the country to this point so who’s to say they can’t run through them?
