NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 24 of the 2023-24 season
By Bryan Mauro
It’s the conclusion of the ACC/SEC Challenge on today’s NCAA Basketball slate, along with a few other marquee matchups to watch.
It is hard to know where to begin about last night. Two ranked teams went down and one of them lost to a team who doesn’t project to be very good. Clemson beat Alabama using a 30-13 run in the middle of the second half. The head scratcher was Mississippi State losing to Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs have always had questions about their offense, but it was very bad last night. Kentucky is fun to watch again as they rolled Miami and LSU got rolled by Syracuse.
Pittsburgh lost a tough game to Missouri, who just lost to Jackson State last week. Eastern Illinois was within a possession of Kansas late in the game before the Jayhawks, who were 39 point favorites, won by 8. Finally, UNLV may be the most hot and cold team in the country. They got blasted at home by Southern, got beat by Richmond, and then beat a good Akron team at home last night. College Basketball is extremely unpredictable and that is why we love it so much.
Yesterday I went 25-7 with my picks. That brings my 23-day total to 767-263 overall. There is a giant slate of games today and there is day basketball. The SEC/ACC Challenge continues. Conference play begins in the MAAC, Horizon League, and WAC. There are a plethora of ranked teams and undefeated teams playing today. It is a great slate for all fans of the games that will catch anyone’s attention. Picks for day 24 11/29/2023 are below.

The schedule is loaded today. I told you there were games for everyone today. If you love power five basketball then Arkansas and Duke, Tennessee and North Carolina, Virginia and Texas A&M are the best games on the schedule. Colorado State and Colorado is also a fantastic game pitting a great mid major against a good power school. It is also a rivalry game which always brings something to the table.
On the mid major schedule Duquesne and UC Irvine, Dayton and SMU, New Mexico and Louisiana Tech and Missouri State and Evansville are all great games. Enjoy the games and see you all tomorrow.
