Oakland at Detroit Mercy: 2023-24 college basketball game preview, TV schedule

Oakland and Detroit Mercy are playing in an in-state matchup from the state of Michigan, and the winner will have bragging rights in the rivalry.
The University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland Basketball engage in a rivalry known as the Metro Series; the two schools are only about 26 miles apart. The home of the Golden Grizzlies is in Rochester, Michigan, a suburb to the north of Detroit and UDM is located in northwest Detroit. Due to their proximity to Interstate 75, it takes less than 30 minutes to travel from one university to the other and to each other’s basketball arenas.
There aren’t many rival colleges that can claim to be so near to one another. Both teams participate in the Horizon Conference; UDM was an original member of the conference and Oakland joined it in 2013. Year after year, this rivalry becomes more significant, and this game might be remembered as a classic.
This rivalry game may not have a ton of excitement behind it due to the Titans not having won a game this season and Oakland going into this game as the favorite due to their road-upset victory against Xavier on Monday but when two rivals like this meet on the court, it more often then not, is a good game.
