Seton Hall Basketball: 3 takeaways from win over Northeastern
By John Makuch
Seton Hall Basketball got back on track in their season by taking down CAA opponent Northeastern 88-75. The Pirates pick up their much-needed fifth win of the season at home as they tune up before their Dec. 5 road matchup against a strong Baylor team.
But as for this game, Seton Hall kept this one in control and had the advantage for the majority of the contest, holding the lead for 35:55 minutes. The Pirates shot the ball 59.3 percent from the field in what was an efficient night for the home fans on Greek Night at the Prudential Center for the school’s fraternities.
The fans got the show they wanted, a double-digit victory that you did not have to sweat about too much, but there may have been more expectations surrounding this game and how the Pirates played. Northeastern did a great job of fighting and hanging in for as long as they could. The Huskies played a great game as they looked to upset Seton Hall on the road, but they just came up short in the second half.
The first half only saw Seton Hall up by seven, but a 52-point second half from Seton Hall was what propelled them to an easy victory. Northeastern did score 46 in the second half though, so this did turn out to be quite the high-scoring affair.
But the Pirates now look to Baylor, so what can they take away from this matchup? And what do they need to improve on heading into their upcoming trip to Waco?
