There’s something vividly different about NCAA Basketball compared to the professional sports or even something like college football. At the end of the day, the attention of the nation is on the Blue Bloods, the power conference teams, and the other national ranked competitors, much like in other sports. However, with 362 total Division 1 programs in the nation, there’s something almost romantic about the sheer quantity of basketball programs.

It’s clear and obvious that those power conference programs get the attention because they make the money and typically have the best players and teams, but that’s not exclusively the case. We’re now nearly four weeks into the newest season of college basketball and some of those programs are really scuffling.

On the other side, there are some lesser-followed or mid-major programs that are thriving early into this season. Clearly, each team plays a different schedule and has different hurdles and issues to deal with, but at the end of the day each team’s record speaks loud and clear. Does that mean we should look down upon a team with a tough schedule and a bad record?

Today we’re considering the opposite by looking at all of the teams that have yet to lose a game. As previously mentioned, each team’s schedules and resumes are very different; these unbeaten teams are certainly not equal. Thus we’ll be ranking the strength of these last undefeated teams from top to bottom and looking a bit at what they’ve done and what lies ahead this season. Let’s get right into it, starting with some unexpected mid-major teams near the bottom.
