NCAA Basketball: Ranking final 18 unbeaten teams for 2023-24 season

2. Arizona
Since Tommy Lloyd was hired in 2021, the Wildcats just keep churning out success. Not only are they winning big games (and lots of them), but the talent in Tucson just keeps getting the job done. Many of the names from his first two seasons are gone now, though Arizona added Caleb Love from North Carolina and has enough surrounding talent to be an elite contender yet again.
After blowing out Morgan State on opening night, Arizona got the premier win of the opening week by defeated Duke in Durham, with revenge for Love the former Tar Heel. The Wildcats had three more home blowouts over mid-majors before playing Michigan State on Thanksgiving in the Acrisure Classic, securing a six-point victory to get them to 6-0.
While Michigan State’s slow start as dulled their star a little, getting a road win at Duke is a major feat for the Wildcats so early in this new season. However, the Wildcats have barely scratched the surface on this season and have quite the hellish nonconference slate. Mid-December will see them play neutral-site games against Purdue, Alabama, and Florida Atlantic right before Pac-12 play gets underway.
