Michigan vs. Oregon: 2023-24 college basketball game preview, TV schedule
By Ryan Kay
An underrated game between a team from the Big Ten and a team from the Pac-12. Both fan bases are focused on their football teams but this is a game both fanbases should watch and pay attention to today.

Game Preview:
The Oregon Ducks will host the Michigan Wolverines in a non-conference matchup this afternoon.
The Ducks are coming off a two-game losing streak, including a 99-91 loss to Alabama in their last game. Oregon is averaging 81.5 points per game this season, but they are also giving up 73.3 points per game. The Ducks will be without their top two big men, N’Faly Dante and Nate Bittle, who are both out with injuries.
The Wolverines are also coming off a loss, a 73-57 defeat to Texas Tech in their last game. Michigan is averaging 81.9 points per game this season, and they are giving up 68.9 points per game on defense. The Wolverines are led by Dug McDaniel, who is averaging 18.4 points and 5.6 assists per game.
Key Matchups:
Jermaine Couisnard vs. McDaniel: Couisnard is Oregon’s leading scorer for players who are actively playing today, averaging 12.5 points per game. McDaniel is Michigan’s leading scorer and assists leader, as well as leading the team in steals per game.
Keeshawn Barthelemy vs. Nimari Burnett: Barthelemy is one of Oregon’s starting guards and Burnett is one of Michigan’s starting guards. This is a very underrated match-up that could easily determine the outcome of the game based on who performs better on both sides of the floor.
Kwame Evans Jr. vs. Tarris Reed Jr.: Evans Jr. is now Oregon’s starting center due to the injuries the Ducks have suffered. Reed is Michigan’s starting center. Their stats don’t jump out at you and the Wolverines will have the height advantage overall in this game but the battle down in the low post between Reed and Evans will have a big factor in the outcome of the game.

This game is a toss-up. Both teams are evenly matched, and both teams have struggled at times this season. Oregon will have a home-court advantage, but Michigan is the more experienced team. The Ducks will need to find a way to score without their top two big men, and the Wolverines will need to find a way to slow down Couisnard.
Pick: Michigan 79, Oregon 75
