UConn Basketball has suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks, 69-65. This was a hard-fought road matchup where both teams have a lot to take away from and is one of those games that gets teams ready for the tournament.

This being a top-five showdown is always going to bring about some exciting basketball, and oh boy did that happen in this one. The Jayhawks got out to an early 16-5 start, but UConn would later come all the way back and even take the lead at one point. Kansas just got great performances out of their stars down the stretch, and the Allen Fieldhouse environment was too much to handle.

Hunter Dickinson had a great game from outside, finishing with three makes from behind the arc in a 15-point night with nine rebounds and four blocks. Kevin McCullar Jr. was the star of the night though for the Jayhawks, making shot after shot as the game came down toward the end. His play delivered a 14-2 run after UConn got out to a lead, and that was the push Kansas needed to come out with the win.

UConn was without star freshman guard Stephon Castle, and Cam Spencer was dealing with a foot injury that he aggravated early in this matchup. But despite their injuries, the Huskies showed they can compete with anybody in the country, and there is a lot to take away from this game. There was good, bad, and ugly in this game, but what are the three main takeaways from the loss for the Huskies?
