9. Creighton (6-1)

Last Thursday’s performance against Colorado State at the Hall of Fame Classic is certainly a head scratcher. This strong and potent Bluejays lineup was pretty listless against the Rams, scoring just 48 points after averaging more than 90 in their previous five. The Bluejays did have a rough stretch around this time last year when Ryan Kalkbrenner was injured, but he’s healthy and helped them get back on track this week.

Their only game of the week was at Oklahoma State as part of the Big East-Big 12 Battle, with the Bluejays holding their own with a 79-65 victory. The aforementioned Kalkbrenner had another double-double while Creighton got 21 points and 8 rebounds from Baylor Scheierman and 20 points from Trey Alexander as well. The Bluejays were victorious in their first true road game of the season.

One bad shooting night does not destroy a season. Creighton proved that they belong among the top teams with that bounce back performance against the Cowboys, boasting one of the most talented starting lineups in the nation. Those three returning starters from last year’s Elite Eight run all excelled, and they’ll need them again. The Bluejays look for revenge on the road against rival Nebraska on Sunday.
