UConn’s 1st loss, Creighton’s bounce back among latest Big East Basketball storylines

2. Georgetown gets robbed against TCU
The Georgetown Hoyas were losers due to a missed call, and this one was not controversial or anything of that nature, there was just a genuinely missed call on the floor at the end of this game. Emmanuel Miller proved to be the hero in TCU’s 84-83 victory over the Hoyas, throwing up a prayer from way downtown that banked in off the glass as time expired.
At first glance, this seemed to be one of the most exciting buzzer-beaters we were going to see all season long, and in the win column, on the box score, it will go down as one of those moments. However, after seeing the replay it is clear that Emmanuel Miller stepped out of bounds before taking the shot, it should never have counted in the first place.

Unfortunately for Georgetown, this is a call that has to be made on the floor, and nothing could have been done since by rule, that is not reviewable. The Hoyas have to look at it though that one play was not the reason they had lost that game, and they hung in there against an undefeated TCU opponent that is turning heads this season. So yes, a very tough loss to swallow, and one that should have been a signature Ed Cooley Georgetown win, but according to the final score, stepping out of bounds, never happened.
This team has Syracuse, Coppin State, and Notre Dame remaining on their schedule, and the Hoyas will look to keep their positive play going against these squads. Based on how well they played against TCU, we will see if that carries over into Big East play.
