3 keys for Seton Hall Basketball to win against arch-rival Rutgers

Control the pace, this will be low low-scoring
Given the score of last year’s game, these two teams match up in a way that provides low-scoring affairs. And while you just cannot expect a game where both teams score much less than 50 points to happen again, New Jersey basketball can always get weird.
But the team that always comes out on top in games like these are the ones that have a strong point guard that can control the pace, and slow things down. This is where star guard Kadary Richmond comes in, who had already said “Oh yeah it’s staying here” when asked by NJ.com about the Garden State Hardwood Classic trophy.
Rutgers has not gotten a ton of great play offensively out of their guards, so the Pirates have an advantage at that position by a decent margin. Richmond is a physical player that can drive downhill and create contact, getting to the line is going to be a huge factor in this game. However, in these games, officials prefer to hold their whistle given the physical nature of these contests.
These two teams are defensive by nature though, and the Scarlet Knights will also be in a position trying to prove to 5-star recruit Dylan Harper he made the right decision by committing there. But if Seton Hall can keep the pace in their favor, then they should be able to come out with the win once this is all said and done.
