3 keys for Seton Hall Basketball to win against arch-rival Rutgers

Dominate the glass
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights struggled against Wake Forest to rebound the basketball, which was a big reason why they lost by such a wide margin. Clifford Omoruyi has not been playing as well as expected, he only had four rebounds in that road ACC loss. He is a player that always has a solid game against the Pirates though, so like Dawes, this is a game where he can rebound.
Rutgers was outrebounded 42-30 in that loss, and with the Pirates being a strong team in terms of rebounding the basketball, this is a huge advantage in a game like this. Both teams will be much more invested in making an impact on the glass given the rivalry, but this has still been a struggle for Rutgers at the end of the day.
The Pirates also got a huge addition with Elijah Hutchins-Everett returning to the lineup against Baylor. He only played 11 minutes but tagged in seven rebounds in such a short time. Having a player like this to help deal with Omoruyi is a major piece, and gives the Pirates a huge advantage for their rebounding effort.
When it comes to controlling the pace too, rebounding makes that so much easier, and with the home crowd behind them getting those big-time rebounds can get those fans fired up. Seton Hall has a tough game ahead of them against Rutgers, but they have the home advantage, a talented roster, and something to prove as we head to conference play soon on the horizon.
