17. James Madison Dukes – 9-0

The Dukes have quietly been handling business to remain unbeaten on the year, including a 2-0 past week. They first took on a non-DI opponent on Sunday in Keystone, which was an expected blowout. The final score was 130-59, with seven players in double figures. Michael Green III had 21 points, while both TJ Bickerstaff and Jerell Roberson each had double-doubles.

The big game was on the road at Old Dominion, which for some reason, doesn’t count as an official Sun Belt league game. But it still was a real test for James Madison since the Monarchs were a capable conference foe. However, a 50-30 advantage at halftime took all the intrigue out of this game, allowing the road favorites to win 84-69.

Bickerstaff had 21 pts and 12 rebs to lead the team, while both Green and Terrence Edwards had 13 pts. Jaylen Carry also had 13 off the bench but was perfect from the field, making all six of his field goal attempts.

James Madison stays on the road, this time taking on the Hampton Pirates. They’re 3-5 on the year with one D-I victory and is hoping to get revenge for last season’s 48-point loss to the Dukes at their place.
