10. UNC Tar Heels – 7-2 (1-1)

After big wins over Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida State, the Heels had a ton of momentum heading into a big matchup against UConn in the Jimmy V Classic. It was a game with plenty of runs and proved to be feisty between Armando Bacot and Cam Spencer of the Huskies. In the end, UNC took the loss, falling 87-76.

RJ Davis led all scorers with 26 pts, while Bacot had 13 pts and 13 rebs. Harrison Ingram, who has been one of the NCAA Basketball’s biggest impact transfers so far this season, had 20 pts and 5 asts. It was an off-game for another transfer starter in Cormac Ryan, who had six points and missed all six of his three-point shots.

The next six games are going to be a brutal stretch for UNC outside of a home matchup with Charleston Southern. They have Oklahoma and Kentucky up next, along with three straight road games in the ACC, all against NCAA Tournament contenders (Clemson, Pitt, NC State).

Up next is Kentucky in the CBS Classic, with the Tar Heels looking to get revenge for a 29-point blowout defeat two years ago. The Wildcats are getting its big men back so Bacot will have his hands full.
