2. Kansas Jayhawks – 9-1

Coming off the home win over UConn, the Jayhawks had a couple of regional battles to deal with. The first one went as expected, with Kansas dominating Kansas City to get the 88-69 victory. They shot 54% from the field and had 23 assists to 7 turnovers in a good offensive display. Kevin McCullar led the team with 25 pts, while Hunter Dickinson had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The next game was the rivalry matchup with Missouri, a team Kansas has recently owned. The result wasn’t like last year’s nearly 30-point blowout, with the Tigers leading early on. In the end, Kansas regained the lead and never looked back, winning 73-64. McCullar and KJ Adams each had 17 pts on the night, while Dickinson had 13 pts and 16 rebs. Freshman Elmarko Jackson had 11 pts as well among the starters.

The Jayhawks are now on a 6-game win streak, with the only loss on the season to Marquette in the Maui Invitational. They’ve beaten Kentucky, Tennessee, and UConn already, three Quad 1 wins that’s going to look really good as they fight for another 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Just one game for the Jayhawks and it’s going to be another key matchup, against the Indiana Hoosiers. After getting destroyed against Auburn this weekend, Kansas should have an angry opponent to deal with.
