Syracuse Orange

New Coach Adrian Autry has a great backcourt at Syracuse, with 20 ppg scorer Judah Mintz and double-digit combo guard, JJ Starling. Chris Bell plays the power forward position and has been good in his sophomore campaign. The big question is the at center, as FSU transfer Naheem McLeod gives them nothing offensively and can be a liability at times on defense.

With former four-star prospect Benny Williams riding the bench and not getting any playing time, there’s a potential opening in the frontcourt for Tomlin. This is also one of the younger teams in NCAA Basketball so him being a veteran also would add to his potential impact.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Texas Tech also has a new HC in Grant McCasland, going 6-2 to start the season. But they suffered a big injury, as starting forward Devan Cambridge was recently ruled out for the rest of the season. They have KyeRon Lindsay getting minutes in his place after burning his redshirt but they could use another forward addition who can score.

Like I mentioned with Coach Gates of Missouri, McCasland also has his JUCO ties back from his time at North Texas, including current Kansas State leading scoring guard, Tylor Perry. Tomlin can stay in the Big 12 in a familiar setting and be a key piece on a team with NCAA Tournament potential.
