NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 37 of the 2023-24 season
By Bryan Mauro
The NCAA Basketball schedule picks up slightly today with some games with upset potential. There is a game on today that features two of the best scorers in the game. Outside of a few games there could be a lot of lopsided games on this Tuesday.
Yesterday was light and there was only ranked team in action yesterday. The Gonzaga Bulldogs were favored by 41 over Mississippi Valley State and didn’t cover and scored less than 80 points. It was an easy victory and the Bulldogs pulled everyone out early in the second half. South Carolina State upset Jacksonville. Texas A&M Commerce had the best game of the day when they beat Northern Colorado on their home floor in double overtime. Outside of that it was a day where almost all the favorites won.
Yesterday I went 7-4 in my picks. That brings my 36 day total to 1,103-406. There is more to be excited about on the schedule for today. There are ranked teams in action. The games between the Power schools and mid majors have extreme upset potential and there is a game on in the early morning. The schedule still doesn’t have great games, but it offers more games than the schedule did yesterday. Picks for day 37 December 12, 2023, are below.
UMass Lowell over Long Island
Seton Hall over Monmouth
Tennessee over Georgia Southern
Duke over Hofstra
Cincinnati over Bryant
Louisiana Tech over Southeastern Louisiana
Wright State over Western Kentucky
NC State over UT Martin
Saint Peter’s over UMBC
North Carolina A&T over North Carolina Central
Maryland over Alcorn State
South Florida over Pine Bluff
Radford over VMI
Sam Houston over Louisiana-Monroe
Northern Iowa over Prairie View
Southern Illinois over Austin Peay
Minnesota over IUPUI
Illinois-Chicago over Green Bay
Georgetown over Coppin State
Boise State over Northwestern State
Texas Tech over Oral Roberts
Oregon over Cal Baptist
There are some games with massive upset potential today. Cal Baptist and Oregon is one to watch for. I like the Lancers and their guards. Just one to watch for. Hofstra is a team that can give Duke a game. I don’t think the Pride will win but Duke may not be comfortable in that game for the first 35 minutes or so.
The best game of the day is Southern Illinois and Austin Peay. That game features two of the best scorers in the game in Xavier Johnson from Southern Illinois and DeMarcus Sharp at Austin Peay. That may be a fun one. Enjoy the games and see you tomorrow.
