16. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - 4-5
The Irish are another team with a five-game losing streak, getting swept in the Players Era MTE and losing at home to Elon. Making matters worse is that Markus Burton, the starting guard who is averaging nearly 20 points per game, is out for a few weeks with a lower leg injury.
On the bright side, Braeden Shrewsberry (15.2 ppg) is having a breakout sophomore year, while Tae Davis (14.4 pp and 5.4 rpg) is giving Notre Dame some frontcourt production. But without Burton, they’re going to struggle to win games.
15. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - 4-4
The Jackets have lost all three games against high-major opponents and suffered a 105-97 setback at home to North Florida. There have been some injuries, but for the most part, the team hasn’t taken the next step, despite bringing back both Baye Ndongo and Naithan George.
Lance Terry (14.6 ppg) has been a bright spot as a lead guy for the offense, with six players averaging at least 9.3 ppg. But the defense has been a major issue, particularly allowing lots of threes. If they can’t shore that up, they’ll finish towards the bottom of the ACC.
