Former NBA champion Michael Malone has replaced Hubert Davis as head coach of the Tar Heels but they suffered one of the biggest losses of any ACC team with Veesar staying in the NBA Draft. They’ll need Keita to be one of the best international frontcourt players to replace his production, while Able still isn’t a guarantee to join, as he’s been a standout in the NBA Draft process.
The hope for the Tar Heels lies in its backcourt, with Brown being one of the top scorers in the Big 12 at Utah, while Avdalas showed first-team potential as a freshman at Virginia Tech. But depth and defensive concerns are what could hurt UNC in Malone’s first year.
