Losing Haralson, the highest-ever ranked prospect out of high school after just one year, is a brutal blow to Coach Micah Shrewsberry, who needs his son Braeden to be the lead guard for the Irish. Roberts is a good shooter and capable backcourt partner, while Smith is a former Patriot League Player of the Year at Colgate looking to bounce back after a down year at Gonzaga.
The biggest area of hope is Duncomb, who didn’t do much at Indiana to begin his career but broke out in the Big South this past season. Notre Dame hasn’t had true frontcourt production in years so Duncomb could finally balance out the offense. Still, the defensive concerns combined with Duncomb’s past struggles at the high-major level is a concern.
