13. Virginia Cavaliers - 8-6 (1-2)

Whether it’s with former HC Tony Bennett or current interim head coach Ron Sanchez, the Cavaliers just aren’t going to score many points. They’re bottom-5 in the country in ppg (61.4 ppg) and have only scored more than 70 points once, getting 74 in a win over Manhattan.

Virginia was down 10 at the half against NC State and looked to be on its way to another loss. But they managed to come back at the end and pulled off the 70-67 victory, led by 22 points from Elijah Saunders, along with 14 points from Isaac McKneely and 11 points and seven assists by Andrew Rohde.

The offensive momentum didn’t translate to the weekend’s matchup with Louisville. They were down at the half and scored just 23 points in the final 20 minutes, losing 70-50. The Big 3 from the previous game scored 41 of the 50 combined, while Jacob Cofie, the freshman standout from earlier, had just five points in 24 minutes.

Virginia goes out west in the next week, taking on both Stanford and Cal. They’re two of the weaker defensive units in the ACC so it’s a chance for the Cavaliers to get back on track offensively.
