15. Stanford Cardinal

Another newcomer to the ACC, Stanford, went through a coaching change, landing Kyle Smith from Washington State. Like with Cal, there was plenty of roster turnover, with one main exception. Maxime Raynaud had originally entered the portal but opted to return instead.

Raynaud, a 7’1 center, led the team with 15.5 ppg and 9.6 rpg and was the most improved player in the Pac-12 last season. Like with Watkins at FSU, Stanford has an individual star and one of the best in ACC Basketball. But, like with the Seminoles, there are definitely questions regarding the rest of the roster.

The rest of the frontcourt includes D-II transfer Cole Kastner and Chisom Okpara, who produced 16.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg at Harvard. It could be one of the better frontcourt pairings in the ACC. As for the backcourt, Derin Seran was a double-digit scorer at UC Irvine, along with Oziyah Sellers, a former top-100 prospect at USC.

The x-factor to watch will be Jaylen Blakes, another former top-100 guard who managed to carve a role at Duke despite the backcourt logjam. This is his chance to be a lead guard, and if he can do that, Stanford could be a surprise team in the ACC.
