The Crimson Tide's schedule

Alabama is coming off its first No.1 seed and final four in school history. The next step for Nate Oats is to ascend to the top of the Mountain. That begins with the roster, the Tide has what probably is the deepest roster in the country thanks to some key transfers and a top recruiting class added to a couple of big-time returners. The 13 players on the roster provide Oats with more options than a large portion of the rest of the 363 teams in Division I.

The next step would be a schedule that would prepare his team for the rigors of March. He's done that in spades. First, by hosting UNC-Asheville, Arkansas State, and McNeese State in the first week. Follow that up with a road game at Purdue and a neutral-site game with Illinois, and that's already a solid schedule.

Up next for the Crimson Tide is the Players Era Festival against Houston, Rutgers, and Notre Dame. The SEC/ACC Challenge includes a trip to North Carolina before hosting Creighton. They finish their non-conference schedule the way they began it, by hosting a tough mid-major, South Dakota State. With the roster in place and the monster schedule ahead of them, Alabama can now focus on the final step to get to the ultimate goal: execution on the floor.
