23. Louisville Cardinals - 16-6 (9-2 ACC)

At the start of ACC play, the big question was who would be the toughest competition for Duke and the league’s No. 2 team? That has turned out to be Louisville, who had won 10 straight games and is coming off a blowout win over SMU on the road.

The first opponent of the week was against Wake Forest at home. It proved to be a no-contest, as the Cardinals were up 45-21 at the half at home. In the end, they coasted to a 72-59 victory, led by 18 points from Terrence Edwards. Chucky Hepburn chipped in with 14 points and eight assists.

Their next game was on the road at Georgia Tech, which is under .500 on the season overall but has a history of pulling off upsets. They did that on Wednesday despite trailing by 11 at the half. Louisville gave up 50 points in the second half to lose 77-70. Edwards led the team with 22 points, while Hepburn had 17 points and five assists.

Louisville is back on the road on Wednesday, taking on Boston College. After that, they face a Miami squad at home, a team that just got its first win in ACC play.
