Kansas and Arizona will each be looking to end the regular season on a high note when they meet in a battle in the Big 12 on Saturday. After an embarrassing start to the month of February for the Jayhawks they found their footing with two much needed wins. Now they are coming off of two close losses to Texas Tech and Houston and will try to avoid a regular season with under 20 wins for the first time since 2020-2021.
On the other end, following an impressive 13-1 run in the middle of the season, the No. 24 Wildcats have lost four of their last seven but are coming off a win against rival Arizona State where they put up 113 points. They had four players score 15+ in that one, including Henri Veesaar (22) and KJ Lewis (21) who each had season highs.
While the Big 12 regular season title has already been clinched by Houston, this game does have seeding implications for the Big 12 tournament. Arizona can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win and Texas Tech loss, and they cannot fall any further than No. 3 in the bracket. Kansas can land anywhere from 6-9 based on Saturday’s results around the Big 12, which means they will not have a double bye and could possibly be playing on Tuesday in Kansas City.
My favorite part of this game though is college basketball veterans Caleb Love and Hunter Dickinson on the same court. Imagine telling someone back in 2020 that in 2025 we would be watching these two play against each other in the Big 12.
Here is all you need to know about this matchup between two high profile college basketball programs who are meeting for the first time since 2010.

Arizona vs. Kansas prediction
This game features one of the top offenses in college basketball in Arizona going against a top defense in Kansas. We just saw Arizona look very poor in a 17 point loss to Iowa State who is also very good on the defensive end. I think the Wildcats will be able to score, but I believe Kansas keeps up with them in a high scoring affair.
The biggest factor will be turnovers which has been an issue for the Jayhawks this season. If Kansas wants to win they will have to take care of the ball and limit the amount of extra possessions they give to the Wildcats.
In the end I give the edge to the Jayhawks at home who need a win here badly to take some kind of positive momentum into the postseason. It will be senior day in Lawrence and I think we see big performances from Zeke Mayo and Dejuan Harris Jr. who will be playing in his 170th game in a Kansas uniform.
