Schedule Outlook

After a simple start to the season against Vermont, Auburn’s first real test comes on November 9th in Texas. As part of the Battleground 2k, the Tigers will be playing at Houston for a major early season battle. They follow that up with a couple more easy home dates before a much more significant road trip.

Auburn heads overseas in late November for the Maui Invitational in Hawaii, beginning with a tough contest against Iowa State on November 25th. The Tigers will then face either Dayton or North Carolina the following day, while their third matchup could be against UConn, Michigan State, or another team depending on the contests before them.

Nothing comes easy for the Tigers, whose first game back in the states is at Duke on December 4th as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. There are notably two more neutral-site games in December, as the Tigers face Ohio State in Atlanta as part of Holiday Hoopsgiving on December 14th, one week before battling Purdue in Birmingham.

Unquestionably battle-tested by that nonconference schedule, the Tigers clearly will face their fair-share of challenges in the SEC. They host Missouri on March 4th to kick off league play but are already on the road at new league rival Texas a few days later. At the end of January, they get their only look at a very talented Tennessee team, though the matchup is at least at home.

The games against rival Alabama come on the road on February 15th and for Senior Night and the regular season finale on March 8th. The Tigers only get two looks at three of their league rivals, also facing Ole Miss and Georgia both home and on the road. There’s a very winnable stretch in the middle of league play, though those last few weeks include tough road games at Kentucky and Texas A&M.
