Key Reserves

Guard – Rob Wright (Freshman)

A 4-star prospect originally from Philadelphia, Wright is another talented guard that should carve out a decent role early with the Bears. He’s something of an undersized talent who can still shoot the cover off the ball and run a coherent offense. Time will tell if that size becomes an issue against collegiate athletes, though he possesses a high situational basketball IQ.

Forward – Jason Asemota (Freshman)

Native to Nigeria, Asemota played high school ball in the States and really shined, becoming a 4-star frontcourt prospect. Not only has the 6’8 small forward shown a knack for shooting, he’s put up solid rebounding and shot blocking figures throughout his career and will hope to translate that into the collegiate game.

Forward – Josh Ojianwuna (Junior)

Another player from Nigeria, Ojianwuna has spent the last two seasons as a reserve for the Bears but hopes to get even more involved in the rotation this year. He averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds this past season and should again be one of Drew’s top options off the bench. Though the opportunities were limited, Ojianwuna did make 74% of his shots inside the arc as well.

Guard – Davidson Hubbard (Senior)

Hubbard is a D3 All-American who’ll finish his collegiate career with the Bears after great success at Hampden-Sydney. While helping lead his program to the D3 title game, Hubbard averaged 14.9 points with decent shooting numbers, including 82% from the charity stripe. He joins Baylor as a depth piece with an intriguing shooting and rebounding touch.

Forward – Marino Dubravcic (Freshman)

The most recent of Baylor’s many international prospects; Dubravcic is a 6’10 forward from Croatia who joined the program only a few months ago. He projects as a solid reserve big for the Bears with scoring and rebounding talent, which he showcased at the international level in recent years. We’ll just have to see what he can actually bring immediately as he adjusts to the American collegiate game.

Guard – Jalen Celestine (Senior)

Celestine comes to Baylor via the Transfer Portal, having spent the last four years on the West Coast at California. The New York native actually missed his entire junior season with a knee injury, but came back nicely last year, averaging 8.7 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Golden Bears. His shooting numbers were impressive, making 44% of his 3-pointers mostly as a starter, meaning he has a chance for serious minutes this year in Waco.
