10. Texas Tech Red Raiders

2025-26 record: 23-11 (12-6)

Likely departures

  • Christian Anderson (18.5 ppg and 7.4 apg)
  • Donovan Atwell (13.5 ppg and 3.2 rpg)
  • LeJuan Watts (11.8 ppg and 6.0 rpg)
  • Jaylen Petty (9.9 ppg and 3.9 rpg)
  • Tyeree Bryan (3.5 ppg and 2.5 rpg)
  • Luke Bamgboye (4.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • JT Toppin (21.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg)
  • Josiah Mosley (5.5 ppg and 3.6 rpg)
  • Marial Akuebtok (1.1 ppg and 1.7 rpg)

Roster additions

  • Cruz Davis (20.1 ppg and 4.7 apg at Hofstra)
  • Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn (20.7 ppg and 2.5 apg at UNLV)
  • Damarion Dennis (11.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg at Wyoming)
  • Dakari Spear (4-star guard prospect)

Having Texas Tech this low feels tough, but the lack of depth is too much to ignore. Especially considering that former Big 12 Basketball Player of the Year Toppin is recovering from a Torn ACL and might not be 100% by opening day. Outside of him, there’s little proven frontcourt depth, along with no true wings.

The saving grace is the backcourt potential, led by Cruz and Gibbs-Lawhorn. They, along with rising prospect Spear, should be one of the top groups of guards in the conference. But the wings and frontcourt remain glaring issues the team still needs to address.
