As the calendar flips to February, the Big 12 standings are beginning to sort themselves out. Arizona remains unbeaten and firmly in control at the top, while Houston and Kansas continue to apply pressure just behind them.

The middle of the league is crowded, volatile, and full of teams searching for consistency, while the bottom is defined by long losing streaks and defensive struggles. These power rankings reflect games played through Monday, February 2, 2026.

16. Kansas State Wildcats (10-12, 1-8)

Checking in at the bottom of the Big 12 rankings are the Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats are 1-8 in league play and 10-12 overall. Their latest loss was a 44-point blowout to Iowa State, which came just two games after getting blown out at home by Kansas. Jerome Tang appears to be on one of the hotter seats in college basketball right now. Kansas State will look to get back on track Saturday at TCU before returning home to face Cincinnati on February 11.

15. Utah Utes (9-12, 1-7)

It has been a tough season for the Utah Utes, who have lost seven of their last eight games. Their lone conference win came at home against TCU. Since that victory, Utah has dropped three straight games, allowing 81 or more points in each. Defense has been a season-long issue, with the Utes giving up 81.5 points per game. Terrence Brown leads the offense at 22.5 points per game. Utah hosts Arizona State on Wednesday before heading to Lawrence to take on Kansas.

14. Arizona State Sun Devils (11-11, 2-7)

Arizona State opened the season 9-4 but has since lost seven of its last nine games. The Sun Devils’ most recent loss came against rival Arizona, marking their second defeat to the Wildcats this season. January featured just two wins, both at home, coming against Kansas State and Cincinnati. Arizona State travels to Utah on Wednesday and then heads to Colorado on Saturday.

13. Baylor Bears (12-9, 2-7)

Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears appear to be in a dangerous spot as NCAA Tournament pressure mounts. Baylor snapped a four-game losing streak with a 10-point road win at West Virginia. Now the Bears look to build momentum as they host Colorado before heading to Ames to face Iowa State. Baylor managed just two wins during the month of January.

12. Cincinnati Bearcats (11-11, 3-6)

Cincinnati has dropped three of its last four games, with the lone win coming by 10 points over Baylor. That victory snapped a two-game losing streak that included losses at Arizona and Arizona State. Baba Miller leads the Bearcats with 13.4 points per game, while the team is averaging 71.5 points overall. Cincinnati is home for its next two games against West Virginia on Thursday and UCF on Sunday.

11. TCU Horned Frogs (13-9, 3-6)

It has been a struggle for TCU, which has lost six of its last eight games. The Horned Frogs are coming off back-to-back losses, first at home against Houston and then a 26-point road loss to Colorado. David Punch leads the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game, but defensive breakdowns have been costly. TCU has allowed 76 or more points in each of its last six losses. The Horned Frogs host Kansas State on Saturday and Iowa State on February 10.

10. Colorado Buffaloes (13-9, 3-6)

Colorado is coming off a much-needed home win over TCU, snapping a six-game losing streak. That skid followed a 2-0 start in Big 12 play with wins at Arizona State and Utah. The Buffaloes now look to work back toward .500 in conference play. Up next is a road trip to Waco to face Baylor, followed by a home game against Arizona State.

9. Oklahoma State Cowboys (15-6, 3-5)

Oklahoma State picked up a needed road win at Utah after losing four of its previous five games. The Cowboys will now try to build momentum through a difficult stretch. Oklahoma State hosts BYU on Wednesday before road games at Arizona and Arizona State. The offense has been strong all season at 85.9 points per game, but the defense is allowing nearly 80 per contest.

8. West Virginia Mountaineers (14-8, 5-4)

West Virginia is coming off a home loss to Baylor after a low-scoring win over Kansas State. Offense has been inconsistent, with the Mountaineers averaging just 70.9 points per game. Honor Huff leads the team with 15.8 points per game. West Virginia heads to Cincinnati on Thursday before hosting Texas Tech on Sunday.

7. Texas Tech Red Raiders (16-6, 6-3)

Texas Tech enters February on a two-game losing streak after a loss in Orlando and a late collapse at home against Kansas. Christian Anderson did not play in that game, while JT Toppin struggled offensively. The Red Raiders now face a tough road game at West Virginia before returning home to host Colorado on February 11.

6. Brigham Young Cougars (17-4, 5-3)

BYU is in the middle of its first losing stretch of the season. After an early loss to UConn, the Cougars dropped three of four games, including losses at Texas Tech, at home against Arizona, and on the road at Kansas. The schedule softens slightly with a trip to Oklahoma State, followed by a major home matchup against Houston. Freshman AJ Dybantsa leads the team at 23.3 points per game.

5. UCF Knights (17-4, 6-3)

UCF continues to be one of the biggest surprises in the Big 12. After back-to-back losses to Arizona and Iowa State, the Knights have responded with three straight wins. Those victories included a road win at Colorado and home wins over Arizona State and Texas Tech. UCF is on the road next at Houston and Cincinnati.

4. Iowa State Cyclones (20-2, 7-2)

Iowa State has bounced back from back-to-back losses and is now riding a four-game winning streak. The Cyclones are scoring 86.5 points per game while allowing just 64.8. Their two losses came at Kansas and Cincinnati, where scoring dipped significantly. Iowa State hosts Baylor on Saturday before traveling to TCU on February 10.

3. Kansas Jayhawks (17-5, 7-2)

Few teams in college basketball are hotter than Kansas right now. After losses to UCF and West Virginia, the Jayhawks have won six straight Big 12 games, including recent victories over BYU and Texas Tech. Kansas remains in the thick of the title race with Utah up next and a massive matchup against Arizona looming.

2. Houston Cougars (19-2, 7-1)

Kelvin Sampson once again has Houston playing at an elite level. The Cougars have won back-to-back games since a road loss at Texas Tech. Kingston Flemings has been excellent, averaging 17 points and 5.4 assists per game. Houston hosts UCF before road trips to BYU and Utah.

1. Arizona Wildcats (22-0, 9-0)

Arizona remains one of the last unbeaten teams in college basketball and continues to roll through the Big 12. The Wildcats have won 22 straight games, with only a handful of contests even reaching competitive territory. Brayden Burries leads the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. Arizona hosts Oklahoma State next before traveling to Kansas on February 9.

Keeping the Pressure on at the Top

With February underway, Arizona has set the standard while Houston and Kansas keep the pressure on. The next few weeks will determine whether the top tier pulls away further or if chaos returns to the middle of the Big 12 race.
