5. Kansas Jayhawks (8-3)

Kansas is starting to look more like itself. Even with minutes restrictions for key players, the Jayhawks picked up an impressive road win at NC State. All three losses have come against ranked opponents.

Melvin Council Jr. delivered a standout performance recently, and Kansas has two winnable home games remaining before opening Big 12 play at UCF on January 3.

6. Baylor Bears (7-2)

Baylor’s two losses came against quality opponents in St. John’s and Memphis. Since then, the Bears responded with a dominant win over Norfolk State.

Cameron Carr continues to shine, averaging over 21 points per game while shooting better than 55 percent from the field. Baylor opens conference play January 3 at TCU.
