DePaul Blue Demons - B-
After being one of the worst teams of all time in the 2023-24 season, with a record of 3-29, they came into last season with absolutely no hype, understandably so. DePaul would go on to have a fairly solid season for their standards going 14-20 and finishing 10th in the Big East, which isn't last place, so overall, not bad.
This offseason so far they have picked up 5 transfer commits and 2 high school commits. In the transfer portal they picked up some solid players in Khaman Maker, a 7-2 center from St. John's, RJ Smith, a 6-3 guard from Colorado, Amsal Delalic, a 6-8 guard from Pitt, Kaleb Banks, a 6-8 forward from Tulane, and Brandon Maclin, a 6-5 guard from Radford. Kaleb Banks coming in as their top transfer after posting averages of 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 2.1 stocks on 50.6, 34.1, 73.1 splits last season.
The high school recruiting route wasn't the best for Chris Holtmann as he would once again only pick up 2 recruits, Kruz McClure, a 6-5 guard from Delafield, Wisconsin and Isaiah Medina, a 7-1 center from St. Petersburg, Florida. Both players are ranked in the 140s on 247Sports.
Going into his 2nd season with the Blue Demons coach Chris Holtmann has done a good job trying to get this program going in the right direction. After a relatively successful season for DePaul, this next season could be another step up. Coach Chris Holtmann is really trying to build something in Chicago, Illinois.
