Providence Friars - A-

This last season we never really got to see Providence at full strength as they had multiple players with injury issues, highlighted by their superstar player Bryce Hopkins only playing 3 games all season.

Kim English would get to work this offseason bringing in 5 transfer commits and 2 high school commits. In the high school recruiting scene, English was able to bring in a 4-star forward ranked 43rd on 247 Sports, Jamier Jones, and another 4-star forward ranked 79th on 247 Sports, Jaylen Harrell. Even though English was only able to get 2 commits, both players are good players and should contribute to next season's team.

The transfer portal is where English exceled at this offseason, getting 5 commits. The only major downside is that he lost some good players from last season, losing Bryce Hopkins to St. John's, Jayden Pierre to TCU, Wesley Cardet Jr., who is undecided, and Jabri Abdur-Rahim, who is also undecided. Luckily for Providence fans the commits they are bringing in will help them forget about who they lost. Of those 5 commits, 4 of them are coming from other Power 5 schools, those players being Duncan Powell from Georgia Tech, Daquan Davis from Florida St, Jason Edwards from Vanderbilt, and Jaylin Sellers from UCF, with all 4 of those players averaging 8.8 points per game or higher from last season. They also picked up Mid Major transfer Cole Hargrove who is coming over from Drexel.

The losses definitely hurt but with an elite transfer class and getting 2 quality high school commits, Providence has the potential to finish towards the top of the Big East and could potentially fight for the top spot in the conference.
