After winning back-to-back national titles, Dan Hurley's squad was looking to 3-peat. As we all know, that would not happen, and they would have a solid season, but very disappointing considering their preseason expectations, as they were picked to win the Big East and were ranked number 3 in the preseason AP poll.

Dan Hurley had work to do this offseason, and so far he's done a great job. Hurley was able to bring back a majority of their scoring from last season, bringing back players like Alex Karaban, who averaged 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last season, Solo Ball, who averaged 14.4 points per game while shooting 41.4 percent from three on 6.8 attempts a night, and Tarris Reed Jr, who averaged 9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 64.4 percent from the field. Hurley was also able to bring back Jayden Ross and Jaylin Stewart from last season.

In the transfer portal, Hurley only picked up 2 commits, but both of those commits were good contributors for their respective teams from last season. Those players being Silas Demary Jr. from Georgia and Malachi Smith from Dayton. Both of those players averaged over 10 points per game last season.

The high school/international scene is another place where Hurley did some great work, getting 4 commits. Hurley was able to get 1 5-star, 2 4-stars, and 1 3-star. The 5-star being a 6-4 guard from Greenfield, Indiana, Braylon Mullins. Both 4-stars are coming in as forwards, 1 being a 7-0 forward from Potomac, Maryland, Eric Reibe, and the other being a 6-6 forward from Australia, Jacob Furphy. The lone 3-star is coming in as a 6-5 forward from Castaic, California, Jacob Ross.

With the combination of veteran returners, young freshman, and star transfers, this is one of the best offseasons in the conference and all of the sports. UConn will likely be pretty high in the preseason ranking and could definitely be a favorite to win the title going into the tournament next season.
