Coach Ed Cooley has yet to get the Hoyas back to the Big Dance, and after this offseason, it’s hard to see them any closer than when he was hired. They lost a ton of production to the portal, including Mack and Lewis, who were solid starting guards.

Replacing them includes Lowe, a guard who can score at a high level when healthy but also isn’t overly efficient, while Miller is a late add who is at least a proven high-major player. Shooting remains a concern for this group, which needs a Jackson breakout campaign in the backcourt.

Keeping Williams is the saving grace this offseason, but there still isn’t much of a frontcourt. Machot is at least a Defensive Player of the Year in the CAA, but will he give the Hoyas any offense? This was an important offseason for the program, and it’s hard to say that they’ve improved from a team that finished near the bottom of the standings last season.
