Among the new hires in the offseason coaching carousel, the Friars landing of Coach Bryan Hodgson from South Florida was one of the big ones. Along with Mela's return comes a revamped roster with plenty to like. Mack is a proven starter in the Big Beast, while Byrd, Vanterpool, and Sabol give them plenty of depth.

The frontcourt should be fine, with Mela, Page, and Aletan all being quality rotation pieces. It’s a roster that can finish in the top-4, especially if Pate, a former five-star prospect out of high school, can be effective.

The only question with this group is who’ll be on the All-Big East lists, as there may be a lack of star power. But for a program to be effective, starting over, it’s hard to see how Providence could’ve done better.
