5. Butler Bulldogs 7-2

The Bulldogs are coming off a loss to Boise State and are 7-2 on the season. The Bulldogs also have a tight loss to SMU on the season. Finley Bizjack leads the team with 18 points per game, while Michael Ajari is adding 16.2 per game. Butler has been a strong offensive team, scoring more than 87.5 points per game. The Bulldogs will get together in conference play on Saturday against Providence in a TNT game.

6. Providence Friars 7-4

Jamier Jones scored 16 points off the bench and the Friars beat the Brown Bears in their last game. It was their third win in a row. The Friars have four losses, as they allowed 107 to Virginia Tech, 97 to Colorado, 104 to Wisconsin and 90 to the Florida Gators. The Friars are allowing teams to score 82.1 points per game on them. That is not a successful ingredient for success, especially heading into conference play. They are at Butler on Saturday in the Big East opener.
