It’s been an offseason without much news, which is fine for the Hawkeyes. The most important thing for the program was head coach Ben McCollum getting extended and staying. That meant they were able to keep most of the returning pieces with eligibility, such as Koch, Combs, Sage, and Howard, all of whom are breakout candidates with larger roles.
Losing Folguerias to the portal left the team with only one key player with eligibility remaining. Replacing him is McKeever, a 7’3 center who gives them size inside and can rebound. While Iowa didn’t land a star to replace Stirtz, it’s still a roster that can make the NCAA Tournament, assuming the supporting cast all improves.
