Winning a national title sets Michigan up as good as possible in the offseason. But there are downsides, such as key players deciding to enter and stay in the NBA Draft. Mara and Johnson simply rose too far up the Big Boards. However, the team was able to bring back the guard duo of Cadeau and McKenney, helping make up for Cason’s injury, which will likely keep him out all of next year.

Thiam is a proven high-major big man who was one of the top interior bigs in the transfer portal. Same as Estrella, a quality big man from Tennessee. Reed, who was injured most of last year, gives them even more frontcourt depth to form a new Big 3 inside.

And most important of all, Coach Dusty May is still around for the program despite multiple big jobs becoming available that could’ve taken him elsewhere.
