Typical of a Tom Izzo-led program, Michigan State had a quiet offseason without many moves. But the most important one was star guard Fears electing to return from the NBA Draft. However, he had a strong combine performance, and it was nearly 50/50 whether he’d come back.
But Fears is indeed back, along with several underclassmen with potential, such as Teng, Scott, and Ward. The Spartans also got a good big man from the portal in Bonke, a 7’2 big man who was good in the American Conference and replaces Cooper at center.
With Glenn coming back from injury and Taylor joining the frontcourt, there just wasn’t much else for Michigan State to do this offseason. And that’s fine, because they’re a top-10 caliber roster for 2026-27.
