Last year was literally the best in program history for the Cornhuskers, making its first-ever Sweet 16 appearance. They do lose a lot of production, but only Buyuktuncel had eligibility from its rotation.
The most important thing that occurred was the return of Sandfort, Nebraska’s leading scorer and sharpshooter. Frager, coming off a strong freshman campaign, also comes back to the team.
It’s been an overall strong offseason for the Cornhuskers, a program that tended to lose more talent than it gained in the past. The collective of frontcourt players they brought in, including Wilkinson, Orme, and Kapke, should help them remain competitive in the Big Ten next year.
