14. Minnesota Golden Gophers

2025-26 record: 15-18 (8-12)

Likely departures

  • Cade Tyson (19.6 ppg and 5.4 rpg)
  • Langston Reynolds (11.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.5 apg)
  • Chansey Willis (6.3 ppg and 3.3 apg)
  • Robert Vaihola (5.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • Isaac Asuam (10.9 ppg and 3.7 apg)
  • Bobby Durkin (10.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg)
  • Jaylen Crocker-Johnson (13.4 ppg and 6.8 rpg)

Roster additions

  • Nolan Groves (0.9 ppg and 1.2 rpg at Texas Tech)
  • Kyan Evans (4.0 ppg and 2.5 apg at North Carolina)
  • Malachi Palmer (4.6 pg and 1.7 rpg at Villanova)
  • Malick Kordel (1.2 ppg and 1.5 rpg at Michigan)
  • Winters Grady (2.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg at Michigan)

The Gophers are one of a few Big Ten Basketball teams to bring back a trio of double-digit scorers, which should help their floor in the conference. But there are two problems with this. One is that none of them is Tyson, one of the top scorers in the conference.

The other is the fact that those three are likely the best players, based on who Minnesota added via the portal. Outside of Evans, who was a double-digit scorer back at Colorado State with Coach Niko Medved, everyone else is a high-upside swing, which may or may not work out.
