Bracketology 2025: 5 biggest losers from Feast Week results
Not everyone can take advantage of opportunities from Feast week to improve their resume. In fact, some teams can do some severe damage to it. Here’s a look and recap of the five teams who were the biggest Bracketology losers from the past 10 days.
5. TCU Horned Frogs
The Big 12 got plenty of wins from Feast Week, cementing itself as one of the top leagues in NCAA Basketball. The one exception was TCU, who lost both of its games in the Acrisure Invitational, falling to both Colorado State and Santa Clara. There’s a chance that these could end up in the Quad 3 range and with no good wins so far, they’ll need to get going to improve their resume.
4. USC Trojans
Getting swept by two mid-major opponents (New Mexico and Saint Mary’s) in the MTE is already an issue in itself. But losing by 35 points to the Gaels was a metrics disaster, the kind that’ll ruin their resume unless they start winning big.
3. UConn Huskies
The Huskies getting swept in the Maui Invitational was a surprise to even though they weren’t high on to begin with. But while losses to Colorado and Dayton aren’t going to be bad, the program will have gone a month without a win over a top-300 team. UConn won’t be in the mix for a top seed this time around.
2. Providence Friars
I could’ve listed even more Big East teams as Bracketology losers, but the Friars stand out for losing all three games in the Battle 4 Atlantis. One was to Davidson, which was supposed to be the worst team in the field. Providence has opportunities coming up against BYU and Rhode Island, but now, they’re “must-win” for the team.
1. Miami Hurricanes
Miami came into the Charleston Classic as a favorite and instead, lost all three games. They weren’t even overly competitive, losing by 21 points to Drake. Making matters worse, they followed that tournament up with falling to a 1-win Charleston Southern squad on Saturday for a Quad 4 defeat.
Is Miami’s season over? Almost. They’ve dug itself a hole so deep that they need to beat Tennessee this week to even get back on the bubble. The ACC as a whole struggled but the Hurricanes was the face of said struggle.
