Many moves for the 2025 recruiting class have been made, with a number of teams having quality groups of future freshmen. One of them is Butler Basketball, who has three commits in the class already. They’re led by top-100 point guard, Azavier Robinson, along with Jackson Keith and Jack McCaffery, two wings ranked in the top 160 per 247sportsComposite.
But the Bulldogs weren’t done adding on the wings, landing one more commit to the 2025 class in Efeosa Oliogu. He’s a 6’6 small forward from Ontario, Canada, and is a consensus four-star and top-100 prospect in the 2025 class.
Oliogu isn’t like the other wing commits for Butler Basketball. He’s more of a slashing athlete than a pure shooter who uses his athleticism and length to make plays on both ends of the court. His game may have some raw traits that need continued development, but he may have the highest ceiling of any player in the current class.
It’s been a rough past month for the Bulldogs, currently tied for last in Big East play at 0-6 and 7-10 overall. Plus, they may be losing their top four scorers after this season, including leading scorers and top wings Jahmyl Telfort and Pierre Brooks. And since Iowa transfer Patrick McCaffery technically fits into that category, it makes sense as to why Butler has added several players who can play the three and four-spots.
Don’t forget, Butler should also be getting former Maryland wing and top-50 prospect Jaime Kaiser back. He’s yet to play this season while dealing with an injury and likely won’t be around for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign. But he should be back for next season, part of a new wing core that now includes Oliogu. For the team to be competitive, they’ll need all of these guys to have an impact.
