Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon is one of the great basketball players of all time, both in college for the Houston Cougars and in the NBA for the Houston Rockets. The big man has a son in Aziz Olajuwon, a 6’6 small forward and top-100 prospect in the 2026 basketball recruiting class.

Aziz is a fairly good all-around athlete and scorer who can defend, though not at the HOF level of his father. Still, the younger Olajuwon has plenty of interest, including a group of reported contenders setting up visits with him.

Here’s a look at how he fits with each of the options.

Cincy Bearcats

The current wing options for the Bearcats include West Virginia transfer Sencire Harris and five-star freshman prospect Shon Abaev. If he’s only around for one year, then this option would make great sense for Olajuwon to avoid any kind of logjam. If not, then he’ll have to be careful and potentially look for minutes at the two-spot.

Stanford Cardinal

Coach Kyle Smith has a good track record of development and is willing to play freshmen. Stanford is rebuilding its roster and has plenty of room on the wings for Olajuwon, especially since Chisom Okpara will be gone after next year. Of the three options, this is the one that can offer the largest role to him as a freshman.

TCU Horned Frogs

TCU is an interesting option, as they have a trio of sophomore small forwards all looking for more playing time. Between David Punch, Micah Robinson, and Jace Posey, there’s going to be competition that needs to be sorted out, and someone could very well leave. This is an option where Olajuwon may have to wait a bit to see what the future rotation may look like with him.
