The four-seed Maryland Terrapins and 12-seed Colorado State Rams are back in action in the Round of 32 for the NCAA Tournament on Sunday (March 23).
Colorado State and Maryland both have quick turnarounds after a couple of impressive Round of 64 wins earlier this week. Maryland fended off an early first-half push from 13-seed Grand Canyon to cruise to a dominant 81-49 win on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, the Rams upset the five-seed Memphis Tigers with a convincing multi-possession by eight points on Friday afternoon. This is the second straight year that Colorado State won at least one game in the NCAA Tournament after beating the Virginia Cavaliers in a first four game last postseason in 2024.
A win over Colorado State would advance the Terps to its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2016.

Colorado State vs Maryland prediction
Both squads have real star power on their starting lineups. Colorado State is led by the Mountain West Tournament MVP and star senior shooting guard Nique Clifford. This past regular season, Clifford ranked second in the Mountain West conference in scoring at a clip north of 18 points per game.
Maryland comes in with a big man with a skyrocketing NBA Draft stock for 2025, freshman standout center Derik Queen. The Baltimore, MD, native is averaging an impressive 16 points per game and nine rebounds this season, earning him the Big Ten Newcomer of the Year honors for this season for the Terps.
If Maryland can control the tempo of this game and limit turnovers, this should be the Terps' win for the taking to advance to the Sweet 16. But underestimating Colorado State could be a costly mistake for Maryland this weekend.
