Creighton Basketball: 2024-25 season preview for the Bluejays
By Joey Loose
Key Reserves
Forward – Jasen Green (Sophomore)
We didn’t see a lot from Green as a freshman last season, but the Omaha native might have a chance to make more of an impact in year two. He averaged just 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game but moves up the depth chart and could see more minutes in the frontcourt this year. If he takes an expected step forward as a sophomore, then he could become a sneaky depth piece this season.
Guard – Larry Johnson (Freshman)
A 4-star prospect from California, Johnson is a shooting guard who was a fringe Top 100 prospect. He signed last year with the Bluejays and hopes to slide into an important role in the coming seasons, though we could expect him as the first option behind Isaacs off the bench right away.
Guard – Fedor Zugic (Freshman)
A 6’6 guard originally from Montenegro, Zugic signed with the Bluejays only a few months ago but now joins the team after previous success at the international level. He showed promise as a scorer, rebounder, and ball distributor in Montenegro, though we’ll see how his game develops at the collegiate level.
Guard – Ty Davis (Freshman)
Davis is a combo guard from Birmingham, Alabama who could see more run as a backup at the point as an underclassman. He has potential on the offensive end, putting up great scoring and assists numbers in high school, though time will tell how the 3-star recruit adjusts with the Bluejays.
Forward – Jackson McAndrew (Freshman)
Creighton’s most highly-anticipated freshman recruit, McAndrew is a 4-star power forward from Minneapolis who’s hoping to carve out a major role down the line in Omaha. He’s a powerful shooter, with solid accuracy from long-range, and has the same type of build as recent successful forwards like Kalkbrenner and Scheierman, though he’ll need to fill out his frame a bit to hang in the Big East.
Center – Fredrick King (Junior)
Native to the Bahamas, King started off as something of a project for the Bluejays, but could see additional time now as an upperclassman. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last year and actually started a few games as a freshman. The efficiency numbers are solid; we’ll just see if King puts it together during his opportunities in Kalkbrenner’s relief.
Forward – Isaac Traudt (Sophomore)
A Top 50 recruit from two seasons ago, Traudt enters what could be an important redshirt sophomore season. After sitting out a year at Virginia, the talented prospect became a reserve forward and averaged 2.9 points and 0.7 rebounds per game in limited minutes for the Bluejays last year. With roster changes, he’s now the first option off the bench in the frontcourt and could develop into their next prominent forward, especially after making 42% of his 3-pointers.
