There’s no shortage of entertaining college basketball on Saturday and that continues as Auburn heads to Arizona for the nightcap. We expect big things from both programs this season even with several new faces, but which team can put their best foot forward in this early December faceoff?

Among those changes for Auburn (7-2) has been Steven Pearl’s genesis as head coach and it hasn’t always been the smoothest ride. The Tigers were blown out by an elite Michigan team in Las Vegas and struggled on opening night, but aside from that it’s been largely good news in Auburn. This team’s last three wins are all double-digit defeats of power conference foes, knocking out Oregon, St. John’s, and NC State in the last few weeks.

On the contrary, Arizona (7-0) has had a very smooth ride to this point and own one of the most impressive early resumes in college basketball. The Wildcats upended Florida on opening night, got a great win out against UCLA, and then surprised many by winning at UConn just a few weeks ago. The Wildcats weren’t at some big tournament and aren’t the best shooting team but they do what’s necessary to win important games and finally get to play one of these big matchups at home.

Even though Auburn is playing better ball overall recently, there’s understandable concern in this matchup on the road. The Wildcats look like one of the best teams in the nation, as those freshmen in Peat and Burries have been marvelous in their first month of college ball. Auburn really needs someone to step up and could use a strong effort from their frontcourt in this matchup. Arizona yearns to continue their perfect start to the season and enter play as decent favorites.

After what we’ve seen recently, does Auburn have it in them to pull off this great upset in Tucson? Is an eighth-straight winning coming for an Arizona team that looks as put together and capable as nearly anyone in the whole country?
