Among the exciting sporting events coming our way on Thanksgiving Day, the CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic gives us quite the matchup in Chicago. A pair of ranked teams each look to make their case on the national level on Thursday night as Duke and Arkansas do battle to finish off Thanksgiving.

To this point, Duke (7-0) has given a resounding answer to any question asked about this young squad. The Blue Devils have double-digit wins over both Kansas and Texas and made quick work of their other foes, with a roaring offense and a crazy average margin of victory. A win against another prominent SEC foe would guarantee them a perfect November.

Things haven’t always been smooth for Arkansas (5-1) to this point in the season, but the Razorbacks are still in great position nonetheless. They lost a tough game at Michigan State and have had a few close calls at home in nonconference play, but this matchup in Chicago gives their young talent a major opportunity to make a statement.

Projected Starting Lineups

Duke Blue Devils

Cameron Boozer (21.1 ppg, 9.9 rpg)

Isaiah Evans (13.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg)

Patrick Ngongba II (13.0 ppg, 6.7 rpg)

Caleb Foster (8.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg)

Dame Sarr (8.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg)

Arkansas Razorbacks

Darius Acuff Jr. (16.8 ppg, 4.3 apg)

D. J. Wagner (9.3 ppg, 4.0 apg)

Karter Knox (9.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg)

Nick Pringle (6.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg)

The most talented player in a game filled with raw talent is Duke’s Cameron Boozer and it’ll be interesting to see how John Calipari and these Razorbacks handle him in the paint. Arkansas has been getting fantastic work from their young freshmen in Darius Acuff Jr. and Meleek Thomas and will need even more from them against this elite Blue Devils squad. They’ll certainly need to shoot the ball better than they did in East Lansing a few weeks ago.

Some might think this matchup leans heavily towards the Blue Devils, but can Arkansas shock the world with a strong team performance on Thursday night, or does Duke keep rolling to start what looks like another incredible campaign?
